We have serious troubleshooting issue and we need some help.
The problem : On all of our remote site clients (Windows XP SP2 and 2k SP4) if we try to fetch a file from a DC (role : file server, DNS, AD, DHCP) over a VPN(OpenVPN 2.1) on Internet WAN link (Fiber 5mbps) we ALWAYS get “Specified network name no longer available”. But if the file is PUSHED from the server, everything’s ok.
Situation : We have 3 DC’s on domain example.com in our Headquaters.
The problem persist on all of them. BUT the same task ALWAYS works fine on other member servers. (All DC’s and member servers are Windows 2003 server). Additionally, every client on the LAN that connects to these DC’s aren’t getting this error…
The Hick! If we demote one of our DC and make a new domain out of it, the same remote site clients won’t get the error. So it seems that the problem is only the configuration of the domain example.com.
Second Hick!! Its far-fetch but…eveything was working fine before we move to our new office. We had at that time a cable modem for internet connection…we just “moved” our servers…
WE CAN’T FIGURE IT OUT!!!
We tried dcdiag, netdiag, ntdsutil, basicaly did everything we could google …
Any ideas that could help?
