Specify Drive Letter Assignments

Is there a way to specify the drive letter assigned to each partition on IDE drives in Win98se? I know that normally the answer is no, but was wondering if there is a way around the system assigning letters. I want to set up a stand-a-lone win98 machine to look like our network machines. This would enable me to run scripts that are drive letter specific and use config files from the office network on remote non-network sites directly. Thanks
