spool 32 error

it started about 1 month ago. That some of our users are getting a spool 32 error when they try to print from our permiting system program. They try to print a record and the following message comes up StartDocErro-1(Your File waiting to be printedwas deleted. Spool 32 error. They exit from the application and the printers has dissappeared. The pc is re-booted and the printers re-appear. Has anyone seen this and been able to resolve the problem?
