spoolsv.exe

Does anyone know the reason spoolsv.exe needs to see IP address 254.254.254.254 ? After loading zonealarm 2.6 to windows 2000 pro, printing was blocked until the question was answered to continue with that address. This is on a system that has been running for months. My print server is at 192.168.1.90. ZoneAlarm options were set to ignore the range from dot 1 to dot 254 for client PCs and printer servers. Windows 2000 server has DHCP services set for the same range.
