SQL 2005 Backup Problems

by maclovin . Updated 15 years, 8 months ago

First of all, thank you to anyone bothering to read this. Any help is greatly appreciated!

I am setting up daily backups for my SQL 2005 server.

Two things:

How can I delete a scheduled execution for a specific DB? (The button that is supposed to let me “View Scheduled Jobs” is greyed out for some reason…)

Also, Can I perform a recycle backup where the backup file REPLACES the current one, rather than just doing a full backup where it doubles the size of the file I’m backing up to? Essentially, the same as a recycle backup option on tape.

I really appreciate any guidance one could offer on this. I understand SQL, I just don’t think I understand cumbersome job scheduling! Of course, I can’t find any articles really related to REMOVING a scheduled job from MS, either, unless I’m looking in the wrong place…

Thanks again.
