SQL Database on Server 2003 Storage System

Hi,

I’ve got a question about Microsoft SQL Server vs a Microsoft Storage Server R2 for storing the databases on.
For multiple reasons it is not possible to add local storage or connect to a SAN environment, so i have to look for alternatives.

Is this a ‘normal’ used solution? Will i entounter I/O performance problems, how to connect the Storage Server to the SQL server?
