SQL Server/ ODBC connection

Hello,
We use an electronic medical records program that my computer is the server for. All client computers are able to connect and access program, but my computer cannot access program. I get an error message directing me to establish a dsn connection through ODBC because the database was not found. I have established a connection and the test is successful but I cannot access program. IT dept for software vendor doesn’t have any idea as to what is wrong. I have SQL Server 2005 and I can find the database but my program cannot. Any ideas as to what I could be missing in the configuration of my computer? The program has an ini file that has a DSN Connection section that I have tried to alter in various ways with no luck.
