SQL TRN backup – "Remove files older than" is not working

In SQL 2000 >> Database Maintenance Plan >> Transaction Log Backup:

In the Remove files older than ??? regardless of what I set it to it does not remove any TRN files.

PLEASE NOTE: the same delete process for the data file backup DOES work and removes the required BKP files.

The backup files and transaction log files are in the same directory so I don’t think it’s a permissions issue.

We’re using Server 2003 x64 with SQL 2000.

Any ideas or solutions?
