Starting a career in IT

I’m starting an IT co-op (more specifically..well, at this point I honestly don’t know any more specifics than that) in about a week. I worked at the help desk at my school last semester, but in terms of real-world IT experience I’m at ground zero. Aside from the dress code, I have no idea what to expect.

Any advice, tips, possibly [free] resources to look into to learn more? It can be technical information, business information, whatever you have to say, I’m excited to listen and learn from you all.
