Starting home pc repair business

I am a college freshmen CS major working on A+ and Net+ certifications. I am interested in starting a from home part time computer repair business – with residential clients. If I keep it small could I avoid having to get a business license or liability insurance? If I center my services around virus removal/software troubleshooting instead of hardware troubleshooting I could avoid all the problems of opening someones PC and possibly damaging it or voiding the warranty.
