Static on Phone

I need more info. on configuring my Magic Jack, there’s always lots of background noises. The phone also cuts off in the middle of a conversation. Do the Magic Jack info have to show on my PC 24/7? How do I set up voice mail… Sorry I need lots of help in order to enjoy my new service
