Steps to troubleshoot a NIC card

Hello

Is there a website or somewhere Ican go to access a step by step guide for troubleshooting a suspected bad NIC card. I am not certain it is in fact the NIC, but I have ruled our infrastructure wiring. I made all new reconnections and swapped out old patch cords. HELP!!!
