Hi everyone,
I had a glitch while downloading the ‘200 Ways to revive a disc’ paper from tech republic. The glitch was my own fault (wrong version of TCP/IP installed) and I have fixed that and downloaded it successfully since then.
BUT…
Now, when I run VirusScan from DOS I get the following message:
C:\WINDOWS\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5\W9I3SDEJ\200ways[1].zip\200WAYS.RTF
file could not be opened.
Neither Explorer nor DOS can see the problem file. I am aware that the so-called Temporary Internet Files folder isn’t a ‘real’ folder but that’s about the limit of my knowledge in that direction.
I’m tempted to try and delete the entire folder and let Windows re-create it after a re-boot which (if it works) would be safe enough on this machine (I use Norton Ghost before anything slightly dodgy like this) but I wouldn’t like to do this on a client’s system.
Can anyone tell me how to ‘safely’ remove this annoying chunk of debris?
I’m running Windows ME on this machine.
Many thanks to all who respond.
