Subnetting

Hi all,
I want to connect two subnets. I have got the ip addresses and the right subnet mask to be used.
Now what would I need to do from here. How many routers/switch do I need?2 routers and one unmanaged switch or two routers and two unmanaged switches?What exact configurations are required on the router/routers/switch.What are the settings when using router as a DHCP server and what should be when using server 2003 as the DHCP server?
