subnetting a class C to /26

i have a Class C network assigned to my company. i would like to subnet it to /26, but i’m a little confused about the uplink. do i need to involve my uplink guys to achive this?
also i assume each VLAN will have it’s own ip in the respective subnet (such as 192.168.0.1, 0.65, 0.129 and 0.193). it will be great if someone can guide the procedure for a cisco 2924, on how to config this.
any help is greatly appreciated.
