Sunbelt Personal Firewall – Remote Desktop with non-default port number

by notlehsm . Updated 17 years, 6 months ago

Once and for all, I would really love to be able to configure this and know it will work from outside my LAN! Yes, I do have the port forwarded to the correct IP address for this machine.

So, I created a packet filter. I named it RDP, for instance. Then chose TCP as the protocol. Next, I added my non default port 33xx to Local and named that RDP. I did the same for Remote.

Now, if I enter my domain:33xx in Remote Desktop, it should allow pass-through, right?! I need to KNOW this is going to work from the outside before I try it and find out it still doesn’t work.

Oh, and how in the hell do you change between advanced and simple mode, like it says when you can when you install it? I never have found that option within the program.

Any help here would be greatly appreciated.
