svcinit trojan

My client had a trojan which put a file ‘svcinit.exe’ in the registry. AVC found it and dealt with it but on boot up he now gets two messages: “cannot find the file ‘svcinit.exe'” and then: “could not load or run svcinit.exe specified in the WIN.INI file”.
He is running Win98SE – what could be looking for this file on start up?
