Switch won’t ping

I was using a 24 port hub but now replace with 24 port switch. After connection, it read the 100mps on the local workstation and the server. But ping fail on the server and the workstation. I try ping from the server to some workstation it fail. Also , at the workstation it fail. I remove the switch connect back by Hub and test ping again it work. Please was can be the problem.
