Symantec Overprotecting Network Shares

I have network shares on a pier to pier network with workstations running Symantec Antivirus version 11. When modules proactive and network threat are enabled the shares can no longer be accessed regardless of permissions.

Does anyone know of a method to configure Symantec to still protect using these modules but not lock out mapped drives?
