system architecture??

hi, can someone explain to me wat does system architecture mean? cos’ i am doing a project on a hotel lodging system and they state on the paper that i have to come out with a (stated in the paper) system architecture(hardware configurations, funtion hierarchy etc). i would like to know wat that means….maybe an example may help too… thanks
