System error at startup

XP home on a Notebook. EVERYTIME it starts(just as the desktop stablises) it gives a “Serious error” message. The event type is “Error” the source is system error” Event catagory is (102)
and the event ID is 1003
Description is: error code 0000000a, parameter1 82149fe8, then lists 3 more paramters.

Any ideas? Also is there any place at Microsoft to search these? i tried the knowledge base, but didn’t find anything.
