Hello,
We are running a small, p2p network. Our XP machine has slowed down terribly, and there are other conditions:
– Server busy (several times a day)
– Programs sometime startup as a process, but not as an application. They reside in the background, but can’t be run.
– Can’t start Word; other office apps work, but sometimes abort.
I have done the following:
1. Visus scan (now clean, was hit with sircam)
2. Ran ad-away (spyware removal)
3. Norton Utilities: disk and windows checking
4. Scandisk
5. I ran a few diagnostic programs, but I don’t know enough to interpret them. Are there any that actually try to diagnose what’s wrong (as opposed to giving test results)?
This has been a smooth running system for almost a year, and it went south. Any ideas? Thanks.
Matthew
