system32\ntoskrl.exe error msg appearing even after successful expand

by srikanth16 . Updated 11 years, 9 months ago

I have a Dell latitude D520, running on win xp sp2. I don’t have a problem with my lap until windowsroot\system32\ntoskrnl.exe error shown up last week.
Gone through many forums and threads which suggested to copy the file again from xp cd using recovery console.

Did the same exactly as suggested. copied the file and received a message “1 file successfully expanded”. Now I have rebooted system and to my surprise the error message still popping up.

What should i do? some one please help me to get back as lot of important files are lied in C C partition, reason why i can not afford a format right now.

And to my additional headache, I have fallowed some advice to “delete and re-install the boot.ini file as in some cases boot.ini file missing or corruption will also lead to ntoskrnl.exe error” according to article which I have read.

Now, boot.ini error is also popping up.

kindly help me to solve the problems.

regards
Srikanth
