T1 Reliability

We currently have a PT to PT data T1. We want some redundancy. I called our provider and they recommended a second T1. My question is: if there is no equipment failure on our part, and something happens on their part would both T1s go down? Has anybody had this experience already. What has been norm. One T1 or both T1s went down.
