I’d like to “secure” my Windows 2000 Professional PC – by limiting incoming TCP/IP traffic – when using an ordinary Dial-Up connection to the Internet: First I tried to configure TCP/IP Filtering (via Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) properties / Advanced/ Options), but my Dial-Up Connections do not offer the TCP/IP Filtering option – only my LAN Adapter Connection offers this option. Is there a special trick to configuring TCP/IP Filtering on a Dial-Up Connection, or can it not be done?
With Windows 2000 Server, I know I could accomplish the desired result using RRAS (local host filtering), but with Professional RRAS apparently cannot be configured (“you do not have permissions”) so I presume it cannot be used?
Thanks for any insights.
