Tech Perspective: Virtual tape solutions

Fujitsu Siemens Computers and Storage Technology are collaborating on the development of CentricStor, a virtual archiving solution, which will connect Virtual Storage Manager to all major platforms. According to Gartner, while this cooperation enables advanced tape technology to be used on more platforms, it should be carefully deployed because the technology has not been fully proved.
