Technical Recuiters Who Don’t Fully Read Resumes

by why me worry? . Updated 16 years, 10 months ago

I’m sure this topic has come up time and time again and has been the source of many threads, but here is my 2 cents on this matter. Lately, I’ve seen an increase in the amount of unsolicited emails from I.T. recruiters…aka…headhunters. I’m personally annoyed at all the email, which I flag as SPAM and junk, from so called “I.T. Recuiters” who send me positions which are completely irrelevant to my area of expertise or are so entry level for my skill set that it’s just laughable and insulting at the same time. Where are these recruiters getting their training for their jobs, if any, and are they really that desparate to just send anyone to a job interview when it’s clear that they have no clue about the technology or skill sets needed for the position they are working to fill? Perhaps they need to slow down and read the resumes thoroughly before sending a server O/S engineer a job posting seeking a Cisco expert. I’m not saying that the recruiters need to have the same technical skills as we do, but at the least, they should understand the difference between a CCNA, MCSE, and a SQL DBA.
