TechRepublic has added two new blogs to our lineup: CIO for Hire and Virtualization Coach.

This blog, written by former CIO Jay Rollins, is jam-packed with advice and real-life examples for advancing IT strategy. Jay doesn’t pull any punches or wrap his advice in a bunch of theory. Using specific examples from his own IT career, he covers topics like how to structure and build your help desk, as well as how to save your company money and time by developing partnerships with your vendors. It’s solid, practical advice for an existing CIO or for the IT manager of a small to medium-sized company who needs the expertise of a CIO, but who doesn’t have the infrastructure to support one yet.
[b]Virtualization Coach[/b]
The promise of virtualization technologies is that they will help you reduce costs, consolidate servers, and maximize infrastructure. Steven Warren is the Virtualization Coach. Steven, author of a book on VMware Workstation, will covering server virtualization, application virtualization, virtualization news, desktop virtualization, Hyper-V, VMware, Parallels, P2V, and a host of other topics as they relate to virtualization.
