If you click on a members ID, you are taken to a page that displays information on the member’s statistics – the number of questions asked, etc. It used to show the statistics on the number of answers accepted, rejected and so on, but now those statistics are missing. Instead, we get the following explanation:
“We have temporarily removed the statistics on Answers accepted, Answers rejected and Answers not rated that previously appeared in this listing. The database query that produced this information was affecting the performance of the site. This is a short-term solution. We are working on a way to provide this information without harming the performance of the site.”
So, I surmise that Jave Guru and other TechRepublic programmersmay be open to suggestions on how to solve this problem.
Those statistics appear on the number of answers given rating, but not the number of questions asked rating, which I find strange. (But I don’t know anything about Java.)
15,000 points go to any member who can help solve the problem. By the way, the only way I’ll know if a member’s suggestion has merit or not is if JaveGuru chimes in. I’ll follow his advice on to whom and/or how and/or if to distribute the points. (If he doesn’t, I’ll have to re-evaluate if/how the points are distributed.)
I like to see the statistics because I’ve started to avoid those members who simply ask and reject, or have a very high rejection rate. I simply won’t waste my time on those inconsiderate $%&*^#@!. In fact, it’s really beginning to get me riled up. (Which may be the real underlying reason for this question.) If you want to use this thread as a soapbox to vent an opinion on those inconsiderate so-and-sos, feel free. But the points willbe distributed only to the person (or persons) who offers suggestions or advice that is implemented to solve the issue as described above.
