Temp files being saved on SYS Volume

I am having a problem in that the purgeable size The SYS volume increases to the point that the volume runs out of disk space. The files in question are _T 1526.tmp etc.I don’t have immediate purge enabled on the volume and this symptom started showing around 3 weeks ago.I am running Netware 5.1 with SP3 and Norton Anti-Virus ver 8.0. Any ideas to what could be causing this issue to occur?
