Term MIS Still Used out there?

Just took a job as an MIS Manager at a County Medical Group. The CEO/Administrator is kind off stuck in the old school type terminology, and advertised the position as MIS. Is this still used out there, I havent heard of it in a while and am thinking of just changing to IS.
