Terminal services client printers not available in server session

by crysconjay . Updated 18 years, 5 months ago

I upgraded my server, went from Server 2003 to Server 2003 R2. Got off the evaluation license, did all the legit things cals etc etc etc. Previously, all the local printers (and all the client’s networked printers) were available in the TS session.

In my new environment, none of the clients printers are available in the TS session.
This is a workgroup environment. So I am not using group policies (cuz there is no domain).
I am running Symantec Endpoint protection with network protect turned on.

I have checked in both TS config and in the individual users settings, and on the clients logon options. Everything everywhere is set to connect/map printers.
My local test client has a usb attached laser printer on the client machine. But it never shows up in the terminal session, printer works fine is shared locally, works locally.
Summary
TS Config connection client
none of the mappings is turned on
connection overrides client connect printer
checked
In users & groups
user properties environment tab
set to connect printer and default to client
Logon options
Set to connect printers

I do get the Microsoft Office Document Image Writer printer from the client.

Any thoughts? hints? flames about my stupidity.
