TermServ Printer Redirect

Running a Win2k TermServ. Setting up a remote Point Of Sale(POS). The POS software requires the receipt printer to be statically defined. My problem is that the session number for the redirected printer will change everytime the session is re-connected. Does anyone know a work around for this. We have tried connecting the POS via a pptp vpn connection but that would not stay connected reliably.
