testing career

Hi,

I am a network engineer with 3.5 years exp. in ISP setup.I am aCCNP also.Will it be good for me to get into testing as acareer.A few of frnds have moved in and are doing device testing in Afilatech and wipro and connexant.How should i start .I do not like being asupport engineer with all those 24*7 operations
