Testing cat 5

I’m connecting a peer-to-peer networking running about 50ft of cat5 cable. Once I crimp the RJ-45 clip how can I test the cable to see if I have a good connection? Is there a tester I can buy, and if there is where can I purchase one. Or can I make a tester.
