My monitor apparently died on me the other night. Its a DGM L-1721 15inch TFT.
I have a totally black screen. When plugged in, the power light pulses every second (this is not the same as the slow pulse that happens when its in standby mode), but pressing the actual power button has no effect whatsoever.
I’ve changed the power cables, the adapter, and it makes no difference if I’ve plugged the monitor into a different PC or to no PC at all. The DC power socket IS a little loose, but no amount of fiddling, gentle circling action or pushing hard has any effect.
Sounds to me like something major has gone wrong on board. My question is, considering the monitor is out of warranty, is it even worth trying to get it fixed or should I just buy a new one?
