I am tired of the stupid questions. I know that nobody is born knowing this stuff. But, I just don’t get why usually intelligent people through out common sense when working with computers.

I got a call from someone wanting to map a drive for a user through an Admin Share. Now come on, it does not take an rocket scientist to know that Admin Shares are for ADMINS. Hence the name.

Then I get a call from a user who want to know how to print to the xerox. The xerox is in the file room. On their computer there is a printer named FILEROOMPRINTER. Come on can I make it any more clear!

I got a call from a user because they got a message from one of the applications that said, “An update has been installed. Click OK to continue.” Now granted I do not know why the program tells them an update was installed. However, they were at a complete loss at what to do. Click OK dammit.

I love my job. However, I have found that my patience is waining. I try to laugh it off but when these types of problem sap all available time it gets extremely frustrating.

How do you handle the every day stupidity.
