The monitor has probably finished its work – what about

I’ve been using a good quality LCD monitor NEC2690WUXi for about a year as a display for internet TV via hdmi cable with splitter for audio to soundbar. I don’t know if this use has caused the malfunction, which is displayed by a broken picture (flashing vertical lines). I tried connecting it to a normal pc, it does it all the time. I.e. it probably has reached the end of its useful life and is to be thrown away? Or is it worth repairing? I wouldn’t ask here, but it wasn’t exactly cheap, however it has served its time. Has anyone encountered anything similar, even with other types?
Thanks for any advice or responses
Peter
