tightvnc doesn’t display open windows

We are using tightvnc server running on SLES 11. We can connect to the remote system but only get the default desktop. Open windows on the remote display are not showing up. We are running IBM Z/os and our engineers need to connect and see the Z/os console but it is not displayed. Please advise
