I am about to finally stop being lazy and content with my current job and start re-certifying for exams down the MCSE or MCITP paths. I am thinking of starting with something simple to get myself back into study and exam mode and was thinking of doing a Windows 7/ Windows 8/ Windows 2008 server exam to get myself started.
Windows 2008 would probably be the best choice, but my current company still uses Windows Server 2003 and I am not sure I can get a comprehensive learning experience from just a virtual environment.
Windows 7 or 8 would work, but not sure which one to go with since I am not sure of Windows 8’s place in the workplace as of yet.
Any recommendations on which one I should start with? For a bit of background info, I have about 10 years professional experience as a systems/network admin but have not been to school since certifying with NT.
