tinyOS and wifi related

Dear Friend,
I want to send some signal through wifi or wimax towards my destinated server. Here I am interested to use tinyOS. In the existing papers I got tinyOS works with sensor networks. Thats why it’s range is not so large as I expect. On the other hand wifi or wimax satisfies me. Instead of sensor I would like to use wifi or wimax in my transmitter. How is it possible?
