To see if VPN is running

Hi Guys,
Im looking for a script that can monitor my vpn is running on my server.

I have a script that can confirm port ssh 22 samba 445
The script cant find 1194 and checking NMAP and fing they cant see port.
The VPN is up and running 1194->1194/udp .
