Tombstone Life

Well while I am at it, might as well ask this also.

I am trying to bring in another server as a DC, but the network cannot be prepared because there has not been a replication. When I do a forced replication on my Windows 2003 Server, I am not able to because of the tombstone lifetime has expired on a Windows 2000 server that I have. My question is, if I demote this 2000 server, what will happen?
