Tombstoned Win 2008 DC

by abigelow75 . Updated 16 years, 4 months ago

We have two DC’s running Windows 2008 server. The FSMO roles are on DC1, and we’re running DC2 as a backup domain controller.

DC2’s time was overridden by a faulty CMOS clock this morning, and as such the DC has been tombstoned.

I’ve seen that the procedure is to run dcpromo /forceremoval, and to then go in and clean up the meta database, and dcpromo the server again.

Has anyone had any experience with a similar situation?
