touchscreen not responding

HP all-in-one 23-qll3w (touch) running Windows 2004, Windows 10. The touchscreen stopped functioning on 2/28 last month. I tried to fix it by uninstalling the touchscreen under the device manager. I get this message …currently, this hardware device is not connected to the computer, code 45, to fix this problem, reconnect this hardware to the computer. What exactly is the name of this hardware and where would I find it? I contacted HP Support, they could not help me without payment due to my computer being out of warranty. Can anyone advise me?
