Tricky Question for an Upcoming IT Interview

Hello Peeps!

I would appreciate if you guys can give me a hand with a question that needs to be answered for an interview I have. It’s a Position as a Jr Tech for an Educational Organization.

Scenario:
You have just received 200 brand new computers to authenticate, image and test for the new program for the upcoming school year. You have 2 weeks before school starts. There is a number of sites that need to be unblocked from the firewall, an authentication protocol, and a list of plug-ins that need to be installed. How does that affect your imaging process?

What I’m trying to figure out is, what do they mean by “Authentication protocol”

I’m confused…
