Trojan Ransomware – VICRYPT

probably a bit late on this, but a TechRepublic search on VICRYPT didn’t return anything.

I just read about a Trojan that encrypts your files. Unusually it doesn’t demand money, but relies on you doing a search on the encrypted file suffix .VICRYPT

The results point you at a number of sites that sell you software to decrypt your files; guess who you end up paying!

Anyway, Symantec have a blog and a free solution.
