Trouble Connecting seperate Vlans to gateway

by mgreetham2001 . Updated 18 years, 7 months ago

I’m busy studying my MCSE so please bear with my simple questions.
I’ve sorted 2 Vlans in the hotel i work but now it comes to actually attaching both to the dsl connection. It would be easy if they were allowed to see each other but the boss wants them to be seperated and nothing to do with one another. No 1 vlan’s devices are all assigned static IP’s (190.160.0.x) and the other is a wireles network for staff (200.168.0.x). Now i have a netgear dsl router, old d-link dsl router and a firewall to try and configure to make this work.

I was thinking to use the d-link on the wireless vlan to deal with dhcp and connect that to the router through the firewall, but i cant seem to connect to the internet that way, for testing purposes i’m leaving the firewall for now until i can get all connected. on the old dlink router i set it IP as 200.168.0.1 with netmask 255.255.255.0 and in the gateway i’ve tried 0.0.0.0 and 192.168.111.1 but it doesn’t want to know any of those.

So please if you have any suggestions (and if you could leave key words so as to point me to which part of the router i should look at) please answere back.

Thank you
Mario
