Trouble connecting to Windows 7 Pro via RDP and VNC over a VPN connection

I am trying to connect to a few Windows 7 Pro boxes via RDP over a VPN (RRAS) connection with no success (can not connect to VNC either). While attempting to connect RDP sits at “Initializing remote connection” them times out.

Here are 2 facts:

1. I can connect via RDP and VNC over LAN.

2. I can connect to XP boxes using RDP and VNC over the VPN connection.

Any advice?
