Trouble remembering Logon Details to 2003 svr from Vista Home PC!

by phil eggleton . Updated 18 years, 11 months ago

I have a customer with 2 PC’s running Windows Vista Premium. I need to map a drive on a 2003 server standard edition. I can map it no problems & when prompted enter the username & password. i also check the box to remember details. This is all good intil I restart the PC. I have to re-enter the username & password after every restart.

I use Vista Business & have no problems. With Vista Home I have noticed that in ‘Manage Your Network Passwords’ the ‘Windows Login Credential’ type is greyed out! Please don’t tell me that Microsoft have, in their wisdom, taken this option out of the home products!!

Can anyone please help?

PS: I would never supply Vista Home to a business, but, unfortunately many of our customers go out & buy their own PC’s so we have to do the best we can with what they have!

Thanks Phil
